In November last year, an 18-year-old stormed a gas station in Kufstein, Tyrol, with a gun. The prey was very thin. But the sentence the young man received in the court in Innsbruck is severe.
“I don’t know how I got the idea,” said the young man, noticeably depressed and rather sheepish. But he was able to clearly identify the intention behind his gas station robbery on November 9, 2023: “I needed money for cannabis.” But he couldn’t get it with the blank weapon.
Cashier was able to press the alarm button
“Open the cash register or I will shoot,” the Syrian shouted at the cashier, who was able to press the alarm button. “I tripped, which probably scared him,” she speculated in the Innsbruck regional court. The suspect fled without the contents of the cash register.
When we escaped, we quickly grabbed a bottle
But not completely without prey – he quickly grabbed a bottle of lemonade. This meant that the armed robbery was not just an attempt.
The prosecutor did not really want to believe the ‘drug motive’: ‘He still had enough weed with him.’ Instead, he saw the crime as a “purely planned acquisition of money.” In contrast, the 18-year-old’s lawyer said his client “probably did not accurately calculate the drug-related crime.”
The jury’s conclusion: 20 months partially suspended, of which he must spend ten months in prison because of the limousine robbery – not legally binding.
