The fire brigade in Austria is currently regularly deployed for carbon monoxide operations. Until now, the odorless and colorless gas mainly posed a danger due to defective gas boilers and mobile air conditioning systems. But in the wake of the energy crisis and fears of a power outage, many Viennese have stocked up on emergency generators. When combined with corresponding flammable materials such as gasoline or gas and improper storage, the actual idea of safety quickly turns into a life-threatening scenario.
