A newborn baby was found alive in a waste container near the Italian fashion city of Turin on Saturday evening. A 49-year-old worker at Villanova Canavese found it in a plastic bag, along with the placenta and umbilical cord.
The man wanted to throw something into the container when he heard the child screaming, Italian media report. “At first I thought it was a cat, only after a while I realized it was a baby,” emphasized the employee, who immediately alerted the police.
