Money rain in Carinthia: A driver lost several thousand euros while driving. Other road users simply stopped and put the banknotes in their pockets.
Unnoticed, a 29-year-old driver from the municipality of Hermagor lost several thousand euros while driving. The driver drove an open truck through the town of Obervellach near Hermagor on Saturday. She had a box on the car that contained the envelope with the money – 3,500 euros.
The money flew through the air
An honest road user called the police when he saw the euro notes flying through the air. The officers immediately went to investigate, but all they could find was the envelope, which was empty. “There was not a single note to be seen,” said a police officer. During the on-site investigation it emerged that employees of a local company had witnessed road users stopping to collect the money.
“A woman with a German license plate was observed, but she would not have been the only one,” the police officer continued. The company’s surveillance cameras will be monitored in the coming days. “We hope the material will lead us to the perpetrators.”
