It was the third knife attack in just 36 hours in Upper Austria, but it is confusing police. In Linz, a 33-year-old was injured by at least two stab wounds. But finding the perpetrator(s) is difficult; there are no clues.
It was shortly after 1 p.m. Friday when the 33-year-old called 911: she had been attacked and stabbed. Crime scene: the Donaulände in the Margarethen district of Linz.
Two stitches
She stated that a hand covered with a leather glove covered her mouth. The attacker allegedly stabbed with his second hand. Two injuries to the groin and thigh later had to be treated at the Linz accident hospital.
No weapon, no description of the perpetrator
An associated murder weapon could not be found during the search. A suspect from Linz (35) was able to provide a complete alibi for the time of the crime and was released after consultation with the Linz public prosecutor’s office. The victim was unable to express suspicion or provide a personal description of the perpetrator. The cause of the woman’s injuries is currently under investigation.
