On Sunday around 3:10 p.m., a mother (39) was walking with her daughter (3) on the cross-country ski trail along the Trisanna stream in the Tyrolean municipality of Ischgl. The daughter was taken in a so-called children’s bobsleigh. “For unknown reasons, the children’s bobsleigh with the girl in it left the cross-country ski trail, after which the child fell over the dike into the Trisanna stream,” police said.

The mother, with the presence of mind, immediately rushed after her and pulled the girl out of the water. The 39-year-old then had to walk about 50 meters upstream with the child in her arms to reach a suitable place where both could be rescued by a rope by the alerted fire brigade. The mother was unharmed, but the child suffered from hypothermia and was taken to hospital for further examination. She had no apparent injuries.
