“Ukraine has a maximum of five months. Then solidarity in Europe will crumble” – war correspondent Christian Wehrschütz ventures this prediction in “Club 3”.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24, Christian Wehrschütz has been reporting from Ukraine for ORF in the usual way. As the experienced war correspondent from so many crisis areas has done before.

In the current “Club 3” from “Krone”, “Kurier” and “profil”, the Styrian gives insight into his daily work and describes impressions from the disputed areas.

In an extensive conversation with Kurt Seinitz (“Krone”), Evelyn Peternell (“Kurier”) and Franziska Tschinderle (“profil”), the 60-year-old draws attention with a rather bleak prognosis: Ukraine would have up to five more months before solidarity in Europe is beginning to crumble. “If there is no prospect of peace, at some point the willingness to help fund a war will decline,” Wehrschütz’s sober analysis is.

Possible scenarios and comparisons with the Balkans
In addition, Wehrschütz explains what he sees as a change in Russian strategy, what role the European Union can play and why the conflict in Ukraine could escalate into a proxy war between the US and Russia. He also makes a comparison with the wars in the Balkans in the 1990s.

Christian Wehrschütz gives these and many other exciting insights into “Club 3” – on Saturday from 8.15 pm and on Sunday from 10.50 am on krone.tv. On Sunday, the newspaper “Krone bunt” also dedicated a portrait to Wehrschütz, who accompanied him during his work in Ukraine.
