Drunk driving – car crashed into tree: two occupants injured

Date:

Two occupants of a car were injured in an accident in Kalsdorf (Graz region) on Thursday evening: the 23-year-old driver came to a stop on the L373 against a tree. Again, drunk driving may have been the cause.

At about 11 p.m., a 23-year-old sent a car with its 34-year-old passenger on the L373 from Kalsdorf towards Unterpremstätten. On a wet road and thick fog, the vehicle suddenly crashed into a tree in the right lane.

Both occupants seriously injured
The impact caused the vehicle to jam and the two occupants had to be extricated from the car by the volunteer fire brigade in Zettling and Kalsdorf.
After receiving first aid from the Red Cross and the emergency doctor, they were taken to the Graz regional hospital with serious injuries.

Alcohol test positive
The L373 was completely blocked for almost two hours. A breath analysis test on the driver was positive.
