Fire in storage room – Nightly fire alarm in hotel with 130 guests

Date:

Great tension on Friday evening in a hotel in the Tyrolean Zillertal. A fire alarm woke 130 holidaymakers from their sleep. The fire broke out in one of the company’s warehouses for unknown reasons. Fortunately no one was injured.

The fire alarm went off at the hotel in Hintertux around 4:30 am. A smoldering fire had broken out in one of the company’s warehouses, producing enormous smoke. “When we arrived, the affected fire compartment had already been evacuated. Under heavy respiratory protection, an interior attack was immediately carried out. The fire was eventually extinguished quickly,” the fire service said.

According to the police, there were about 130 guests in the hotel at the time. As a precaution, they were housed in the dining room. There are no reports of injuries.

Rooms were also affected
For the Floriani disciples, however, the mission was far from over. “The ventilation of the site was difficult. Several rooms suffered from the enormous amount of smoke. With the help of a large fan and two high-pressure ventilation units, the section has been made smoke-free, and the rooms have been checked with CO measuring equipment.

“Exemplary evacuation”
The affected rooms were finally released to guests after about three hours. “Thanks to the exemplary evacuation of the operator and the quick action on our part, we were able to prevent worse things here,” the fire brigade is relieved. A total of 39 Florianis, the ambulance and the police were deployed.
