Two serious injuries were claimed in an accident at a workshop on Wednesday in the Baden district of Lower Austria. When two workers opened an airtight shipping box, there was a sudden explosion. The lid of the container was thrown at the two men – helicopter use!
The two workers, aged 22 and 27, began opening the transport box shortly before 1 p.m. in a hall in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn. There was a brake cleaner mixture in the container. One of the cans may have been damaged beforehand and the contents leaked out.
“Spark caused by static charge”
“When the box was opened, a spark may have been caused by static electricity,” police said on Thursday. As a result, there was an explosion. The force literally blew the lid off the coffin and threw it at the two men. Both the 22-year-old and the 27-year-old suffered serious injuries.
After the first aid, the two workers were taken away by emergency helicopter. They were admitted to the Landesklinikum Wiener Neustadt or to the Klinikum Donaustadt.
