The 73-year-old was driving his car on Roßbacher Straße from Altheim towards Roßbach on Monday afternoon. It is still unclear why his car left the road.
According to police, the vehicle made a 90-degree turn and then crashed into the stable wall of a farm.
The fire brigade recovered the steering wheel
The elderly person was injured in the accident and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Braunau. Two fire departments earlier helped rescue him from the car.
The accident vehicle was a total loss and the stable was also affected by the collision. However, the extent of the damage is not yet clear.
