In Ennsdorf in the Amstetten district (Lower Austria), a skinned cat was found in a safe in an empty office building. Animal abuse is suspected.
Terrible discovery in a former office building in Ennsdorf! The company boss discovered a dead cat in an open safe. A company employee immediately alerted the police.
Velvetpaw was skinned
Officials headed to the building, which had been vacant for years. Vandalism has occurred there several times, but no one expected this discovery. Police searched the rooms and eventually came across a walled but open safe. The cat’s body was there. The shock: her fur was ripped off.
The velvet paw was skinned from the tip of the tail to the neck and legs. Traces of dried blood were found on the area of the left cheek. The official veterinarian could not yet determine with certainty whether the cat was skinned before its death or shortly afterwards.
Was it animal abuse?
Animal abuse is suspected. The Public Prosecution Service was informed. The cat’s body was removed.
