While overtaking a truck on the A10, a young woman from Pongau was thrown off the road in Pfarrwerfen. It hit signs and street poles and landed diagonally on the roof. A paramedic helped her out of the car.
The 22-year-old was on the A10 on the way to Schwarzach on Wednesday around eight o’clock. At the Pongau junction she tried to overtake a truck: at that moment the highway was narrowed from two lanes to just one. The driver was unable to complete the overtaking maneuver and braked. Her car skidded and the woman veered off the road on a right-hand bend.
The car swung uncontrollably onto traffic signs and road posts. The car ended up diagonally on the roof. A first aid worker helped the 22-year-old free himself from the vehicle. She came to the Schwarzach Clinic. The Pfarrwerfen andwerfen fire brigade secured the accident scene and pulled the car aside. Meanwhile, the highway was only accessible in one lane and there were traffic jams.
