The Graz tubing professional Werner Stangl is currently spending his holidays in Thailand. But even there his skills are in demand. He recently rescued a cobra that had holed up in a family’s bathroom. You can watch the spectacular video here!
Styrian reptile and amphibian expert Werner Stangl also has to go on holiday. He is currently spending this with his wife in Thailand. However, he also uses the time to perfect his skills as a tubing professional. That’s why he spends a lot of time in the Krabi Snake Park.
“The people there protect species and provide information about the animals. Catching cobras and other dangerous animals in people’s homes is on their agenda,” says Werner Stangl.
Kobra wasn’t very cooperative
And the support of the Styria was just what was needed; a poisonous animal had barricaded itself in the bathroom of a Thai family, the emergency call showed. The coffee that had just been served had to wait a while. We went to the house on a moped over a bumpy road. The animal, a highly venomous monocle cobra, had made itself comfortable under a plank. She greeted the ‘intruders’ with violent hisses and threatening gestures.
But all their attempts at intimidation were futile. Stangl expertly grabbed her and took her out of the house. What happens to her now? “She is taken from there and released again in a protected place,” explains the expert, who will certainly have more exciting adventures awaiting him for the rest of his holiday before he lurks in Styria again.
