1 million euros in damage – Welding work caused a fire in the bus workshop

The cause of the devastating fire in a mailbox workshop in Zwettl (Lower Austria) has now been determined. According to the police, the fire may have been caused by welding work.

Florianis fought the flames for hours on Tuesday in a mailbox workshop in the Waldviertel. Even the Cobra had to be warned because a burning gas bottle threatened to explode. Two buses were completely destroyed by the flames.

Welding work as a trigger
It is now clear that welding work caused the fire. The National Criminal Investigation Department has investigated the cause of the fire. The damage is estimated at one million euros.

Nine fire brigades were deployed. “Fire out” could be given on Wednesday around 6am.
