A 17-year-old Bulgarian woman had to answer for defamation at the regional court of Feldkirch on Monday. The young woman had played badly with her lover.
The 17-year-old Bulgarian woman from Vorarlberg and the 21-year-old compatriot met via Tinder. Numerous conversations were eventually followed by a visit from Romeo, who lives in the Netherlands, to his Juliet. When the internet acquaintance arrived at the 17-year-old’s house last October and the love heaven was full of violins, not only did her fuse blow, but so did she – to the great annoyance of the girl’s concerned parents. In any case, the daughter maintains telephone contact with her father.
During one of the conversations, she tells him that she was raped by the 21-year-old – and only because she does not want to admit to her parents that she willingly got into bed with her lover. Four days later, the young runaway returns home. During the subsequent police interrogation, she repeats the mass accusations. Eventually, however, the ‘bad joke’ is exposed and the liar is accused of defamation.
A suspended sentence has been imposed
She skipped the first hearing in June and was late for the second. Finally, the 17-year-old admitted during the trial on Monday that she had made up the rape. Judge Martin Mitteregger finds the Bulgarian guilty and imposes a three-year suspended sentence. If the convict does nothing wrong during this time, the case will be legally resolved. However, it is highly doubtful whether the wrongly slandered Romeo will continue to hold on to his lying Juliet.
