Partner stabbed – murder in Graz: “Life sentence” for 29-year-old

Date:

The trial of a 29-year-old Upper Austrian ended on Friday evening at the Graz Regional Criminal Court with life imprisonment and a prison sentence. He stabbed his partner and then caused a fatal traffic accident.

Dominatrix and slave – this was the relationship between a woman from Graz and a 29-year-old from Upper Austria. Initially he was a customer and later he had a relationship with his “mistress”.

As reported, the 29-year-old killed his partner with more than 20 stab wounds in April last year after she tried to throw him out of the apartment during an argument and end the relationship.

Had to die completely uninvolved
He then crashed his BMW into an oncoming car at a speed of 130 km/h, not far from the crime scene. The uninvolved driver, a 31-year-old from Graz, died at the scene of the accident.

Contrary to the double murder charge, the lawyer pleaded guilty to manslaughter and murder by gross negligence.

The report refutes the defendant’s claim
The report of a motor vehicle expert was central to the remainder of the trial on Friday. The expert refuted the suspect’s claim that he accidentally drove into oncoming traffic because a bleeding wound on his forearm distracted him. The 29-year-old’s information is not technically plausible. “It can be clearly concluded that the vehicle swerved very abruptly just before the collision.”

The suspect’s lawyer noted inconsistencies in the preparation of the report. According to an official report, the expert made hasty judgments on the day of the crime. However, a request for a new expert was rejected by the court.

Mentally ill, but healthy
A court psychiatrist stated that the Upper Austrian had a combined personality disorder with borderline elements. But he was sane when he committed the crime. A clinical psychologist explained that the victim could help the suspect with his panic attacks. When she turned away from him, he “tipped over.”

The jury deliberated for more than three hours. In the case of the murdered woman, the lay judges ruled that there had been murder. But in the second case, the majority believed the collision was unintentional.

The sentence was life imprisonment and admission to a forensic therapeutic center – not legally binding.
