Entry ban – Germans are looking for right-wing extremist Sellner

Date:

Austrian right-wing extremist Martin Sellner is threatened with deportation if he reenters Germany. The German Federal Police is said to have made a corresponding entry in the internal search database during the week.

According to the report, if Sellner is checked by German officials at the border, he may be denied further travel after consultation with German Federal Police headquarters. According to information from security circles, the basis is a danger prediction by the German police, Spiegel reports.

Sellner still wants in
Sellner announced on his Telegram channel on Saturday that he was taking legal action against an entry ban in Germany. “I will certainly not cancel my upcoming appointments in Germany because of this,” the 35-year-old wrote.

In addition, according to the report, the city of Potsdam is investigating, together with other authorities in Brandenburg and at the federal level, whether to issue a formal entry ban against Sellner. This should be imposed by the Potsdam immigration authorities, writes “Spiegel”. But for that, Sellner would have to be heard by the German authorities.

Fuss about extreme right-wing meetings
The reason is the recent meeting of right-wing extremists, right-wing conservatives and AfD officials in Potsdam in November. There Sellner presented plans for large-scale ‘remigration’, that is, the deportation or deportation of millions of immigrants, including Germans with a migration background. Until 2023, Sellner was spokesperson for the Identitarian Movement Austria (IBÖ), which was classified as right-wing extremist. The meeting in Potsdam was discovered in January by research platform Correctiv and led to protests against the right in Germany and Austria.
