The shooting in front of the popular nightclub “Sender” in Lustenau (we reported) shocked the whole of Vorarlberg, and the local operator Veli Fidan was also shocked. Meanwhile, there are new details about the terrible crime.
In the middle of the night, in the middle of Vorarlberg: two men, both Chechens, are standing just a few meters from the entrance to the nightclub ‘Sender’, very popular in Vorarlberg, at 11:45 p.m. Suddenly there is a bang, several shots are fired – witnesses say three or four – and the two Chechens fall to the ground. The unknown perpetrator (approx. 1.80 meters tall, normal build) gets into a black SUV, which immediately rumbles away at high speed. Screams are heard and a crowd of people forms around the two victims.
A few minutes later, police and rescue teams arrived on the scene. It turns out that the two Chechens were hit in the arms and legs by the bullets; the injuries are serious but not life-threatening. The two men were taken to hospitals in Bregenz and Dornbirn respectively, where they are currently receiving medical care.
The perpetrator – who may have had one or more accomplices – is still on the run and a large-scale manhunt that was immediately started was unsuccessful. An impressive contingent of several dozen police officers cordoned off the entire area.
At the time of the bloody act, about 200 partygoers were still in the bar – all of them were interviewed by the investigators. According to information from the “Krone”, at least one man was led away in handcuffs. Vorarlberg state police said the public would be informed immediately as soon as new information became available.

Meanwhile, “channel” operator Veli Fidan has also responded in writing to the incredible incidents for his club: “It is with great shock that the channel family is clearly against violence after the events of Saturday evening. We condemn all forms of attacks and actively contribute to comprehensive clarification. We are currently working with the police on the incidents.”
Fidan also wanted to emphasize in his statement that the club’s security concept worked and that guests were always safe. An assessment that is probably open to debate.
