Spectacular traffic accident on Sunday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 21-year-old local man drove his car off the road in Kirchberg (Kitzbühel district), after which it ended up in a stream bed. According to police, an alcohol test on the driver came back positive.
The accident happened around 6:15 am. The 21-year-old drove his car along the side of the road in a left bend. The car then fell approximately three meters over an embankment into a stream.
Driver “significantly drunk”
The local man was injured in the accident. After the first treatment, he was taken by ambulance to St. Johann Hospital. “An alcohol test on the driver showed that he was significantly intoxicated,” investigators said.
Accident car recovered with crane
The Tyrolean’s driver’s license was confiscated on the spot. The accident vehicle was recovered by a towing service using a crane and with the support of the alerted Kirchberg fire brigade.
