Mass panic broke out in Vienna’s Millennium City on Sunday evening. Visitors reported shots being fired around 6:15 p.m. and ran out of the popular shopping center. It is still unclear what exactly happened.
Apparently a fight moved from the subway station to the mall in the 20th district. According to information from “Krone”, two Chechen youth gangs had a fight. One is said to have pulled out a blank pistol and a knife was probably also produced.
The police operation is underway
According to initial information, there were no injuries. The police currently employ heavily armed officers. According to “Today” a suspect has already been arrested.
The Millennium City has approximately 100 shops, but also houses a cinema and bars.
