Helis in use – three people seriously injured in accidents on ski slopes

Date:

The beginning of the semester break in some states of Austria and Germany is clearly noticeable on the ski slopes of Tyrol. In addition to the tragedy in Ischgl, in which a Pole (49) had a fatal accident, three accidents also occurred in the Wilder Kaiser ski world in Kitzbühel. The result: three seriously injured people.

The first accident happened at 9:50 am. A resident (49) skied down the Zinsberg on the Holzalm run number 6a near the edge of the piste. “Suddenly, a 72-year-old local woman driving in front of him crossed the roadway with her skis by turning to the right,” police said. The 49-year-old could no longer avoid it, which resulted in a collision. The man was seriously injured and had to be flown by helicopter to Kufstein Hospital. The 72-year-old was unharmed.

Skied over
The second accident happened at 10:30 am. A Dutchman (22) skied over the skis of a local woman (59) on Foisching run number 25c. “The woman fell and was seriously injured.” She was taken to Kufstein Hospital and admitted as an inpatient. However, the 22-year-old was unharmed.

Look out onto the edge of the site
The third accident happened just 15 minutes later. A German (28) skied down Jochaflope number 6 towards the valley. “He was lifted slightly by an edge in the terrain that he had overlooked.” He was then unable to avoid a collision with a German skier (62) and bumped into her back. The woman was seriously injured. She was flown by helicopter to Kufstein Hospital. The German was only slightly injured.
