Artificial intelligence as an opportunity: However, it must be used wisely; media education will play an increasingly important role in this context. To do this you need knowledge – at the HAK in Laa an der Thaya (Lower Austria) we are working on this challenge.
Artificial intelligence is on the rise. It would therefore be incomprehensible if AI were not discussed in schools. The commercial academy in Laa an der Thaya was selected as a pilot school as part of the “Artificial Intelligence – Opportunity for Austria’s Schools” initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.
A pilot project will soon start at the school
The project will start in the coming months and will run throughout the calendar year 2024. The students will have the opportunity to gain experience with different types of AI learning software. The pilot project is also scientifically supported.
Use in lessons must be planned
“However, AI must be used wisely. Media education will play a major role in this,” explains director Christian Rindhauser. Technology will certainly make some things easier, but: “Nevertheless, the goal should be for schools to prepare for life in different ways – professionally and socially.”
