Six puppies were illegally offered for sale online. Authorities intervened and the puppies were seized. They are now recovering from the tension in quarantine.
A couple from the Waldviertel must have felt a quick buck when their Rottweiler wife and her Bernese Mountain man gave birth to six puppies. They each wanted 900 euros for one of the mini four-legged friends, but at the same time apparently wanted to invest as little as possible.
The puppies, who were only eight weeks old, were separated from their parents early on and housed in a windowless room of just five square meters. They were offered for sale on an online platform.
But the illegal breeding was discovered and the puppies were officially accepted. Because the only 19 kennels in the Krems animal shelter, which should be enough for the entire Waldviertel, were occupied, colleagues from Baden intervened.
“This would not work without the cooperation of the individual animal shelters,” emphasize Andrea Specht (Krems) and Gabi Artner (Baden). The dogs are currently in quarantine due to a parasitic infection. Then they start looking for a house
