The Basque government approved the agreement in the government council on Tuesday Salary increase of 0.5% to officials of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV).
As announced by the Minister of Public Administration and Self-Government, Olatz Garamendi, during the subsequent press conference, the increase will be applied with retroactivity from January 1, 2023 and will be paid on next month’s payroll March. This increase will mean an estimated expenditure of 20.7 million euros for the Basque Government’s treasury, as specified
The increase was included in the general state budgets for 2023, following the agreement signed by the Spanish government, CC.OO. and UGT, which, in addition to the general salary increase, included two additional increases of 0.5%, linked to the evolution of GDP —The Spanish economy was expected to grow above 2.4% in 2023, a figure confirmed in February.
Regarding public employment, Garamendi announced that the first 1,600 positions in the OPEs (corresponding to the administrative ranks, support staff and administrative assistant, as well as nursing technician) will be awarded in May. The remainder (higher, optional and technical scales) will be awarded in September.
As highlighted, the consolidation processes will mean the end of the temporary nature of approximately 3,700 positions in the General Administration. In this way, according to their calculations, the temporality will be below 8%.
