The International Motorcycle Federation and Dorna WSBK Organization have just revealed the provisional list of the first FIM Women’s Motorcycle World Championship, a list that highlights the presence of the 2018 Supersport 300 world champion, Ana Carrasco, as headliner, with the Spanish Beatriz Neila.
About forty pilots registered to participate in the championship and eventually 24 were selected for the inaugural edition of this single-brand competition (Yamaha YZF-R7), which will consist of twelve races spread over six rounds (one held on Saturday and one on Sunday with the Superpole on Friday), will form part of the Superbike World Championship, which will begin competition at the Misano circuit June 14-16.
After two unsuccessful campaigns in the Moto3 World Championship, Carrasco returned to the WorldSBK paddock at the age of 26. In 2017 she became the first woman to win a World Championship race for motorcycles originating in the series and after a year he was proclaimed WorldSSP300 Champion. He won more races in 2019, 2020 and 2021, being one of the most successful drivers in the category. He does this within the Italian structure Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team, “and the goal can only be to win races.”

In addition to Carrasco, the presence of four other Spanish pilots stands out, Beatriz Nellathe winner of the Women’s European Championship 2023 and the Women’s European Cup in 2020, 2021 and 2022, Andrea Sibaja, Francisca Ruiz and Sara Sánchezmaking Spanish motorcycling the most representative in the first women’s world championship.
The Yamaha YZF-R7 This will be the machine that all participants will have, who as a technical partner will manage the administration of the championship. The minimum age to participate is 18 years old.
