After RAI boss Roberto Sergio and his family took a clear pro-Israel position, they were threatened. The general manager of the public TV broadcaster is now under police protection.
The threats reached Sergio after rapper Ghali shouted “Stop the genocide in Palestine!” shouted after his performance at the Sanremo music festival. The channel broadcast the event and responded by speaking out in support of the Israeli people and the Jewish community. The station would report every day “about the tragedy of the hostages in the hands of Hamas,” its solidarity with “the Israeli people and the Jewish community is sincere and with conviction,” Chief Sergio said.
