The indefinite strike in the outsourced health transport of the CAV starts this Monday

Next Monday, February 19, health workers in the CAV will start an indefinite strike called by the unions. ELA, LSB-USO, LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESKto demand the approval of the Osakidetza staff and the restoration of the loss of purchasing power.

The company called the unions last Friday with a new protest, but the unions have criticized that suspending the strike is not enough.

As ELA recalled, this service’s outsourced staff “de blockage from which the negotiating table suffers of the agreement, the lack of will from companies and the inaction of the Ministry of Health to improve the conditions of workers in the sector.

The unions reject the offer of salary increases from the companies, which also “do not talk about leave, family mediation or professional careers,” among other union demands demanding equal treatment for Osakidetza staff.

To start the strike, the medical transport subcontractors will gather at 10:30 am in front of the Basurto Hospital in Bilbao, from where they will leave at 11 am. manifestation to the headquarters of the Basque government.

Minimal services

ELA has announced that the Basque government has declared 100% minimum provisions, “preventing the right to strike of the workforce, which numbers approximately 1,700 workers”, as “neither the workers carrying out transfers for rehabilitation nor those carrying out transfers for consultations other autonomous communities, nor will those who transport hospital discharges be able to strike in the ambulances”.

The union has accused the Basque executive of defending “the interests of employers, overlooking their lack of democratic values ​​regarding this group’s right to strike.”
