Canada wants to send Ukraine more than 800 SkyRanger R70 drones worth $700 million to support the country in its war against Russia. The country’s Defense Minister, Bill Blair, announced this on Monday.
“Today’s announcement ensures that Ukraine has the drones it needs to detect and identify targets critical to Ukraine’s ongoing fight. “Canada will support Ukraine for as long as necessary,” Blair said.
Kiev wants to stop Russian use of Starlink
Meanwhile, Ukraine is looking for ways to prevent Russia from using the Starlink satellite internet service, its digital minister Mikhailo Fedorov said. “We have found an algorithm and made a suggestion to SpaceX so that such cases do not occur,” he said. The country is in contact with the company of American billionaire Elon Musk.
Starlink is operated by SpaceX. According to the government in Kiev, Russian forces are using Starlink terminals for communications purposes in the areas they occupy in Ukraine. Both Russia and the Starlink company deny this.
Zelenskyi complained about the lack of arms supplies
In his nightly video address on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky complained about the lack of artillery shells, anti-aircraft systems in the area near the front and long-range missiles. Kiev is working hard to resume assistance from its Western partners, the Ukrainian head of state assured his compatriots.
