Dramatic and painful moments for a retired couple in Frauenstein (Carinthia): The driver lost control in a bend and landed the car 20 meters into the forest. The 76-year-old and her husband in the passenger seat (81) were taken to hospital.
For an unknown reason, the 76-year-old left the road in a sharp bend to the right on the municipal road in the Schaumboden area and continued straight ahead. The car then fell over a steep embankment, slid about 20 meters across the forest floor and eventually became stuck on a tree. Emergency services responded immediately.
Residents not locked up
The driver and her 81-year-old husband in the passenger seat were injured to an unspecified degree, but fortunately were not trapped and were transported to the Klagenfurt clinic after initial treatment. The fire brigades present from St. Veit an der Glan, Kraig, Schaumboden and Treffelsdorf took over the recovery of the car wreck.
