Two Carinthians had to appear before the regional court in Klagenfurt on Tuesday for sexual abuse of minors. One of the defendants, a 27-year-old, was in the dock for the third time.
Once again the lapwings of the Klagenfurt Regional Court had to endure heavy feeding. Because two abuse trials challenged not only the public, but also the jury led by judge Gernot Kugi.
Repeat offenders in the dock
Once again a 27-year-old had to appear before the Klagenfurt Regional Court. The Carinthian has already had to appear in court twice for pornographic images of minors.
Shortly after his second conviction, the 27-year-old again contacted a 13-year-old boy and not only exchanged relevant images with the boy, but also repeatedly asked the 13-year-old to perform sexual acts in video calls.
“I just didn’t know what a conviction meant,” the 27-year-old told Judge Gernot Kugi, appearing to be completely guilty.
The Carinthian was sentenced by the jury to two years in prison. He must also pay his 13-year-old victim 700 euros in compensation.
The verdict is not final because the Public Prosecution Service has not made a statement.
The trial of a Carinthian farmer accused of sexually abusing two young girls in the summer of 2023 continued.
While the defendant’s wife praised the good nature of her husband, who is currently in custody, medical expert Andreas Jungwirth stated during her interrogation before the jury that the farmer had partial erectile dysfunction.
Jurors find 60-year-old guilty
The report, but also the fiery closing argument, did not convince the jury chaired by judge Gernot Kugi. The court sentenced the 60-year-old to four years in prison.
The verdict is not yet final because the 60-year-old’s defense has filed an appeal for nullity.
