In southern China, a cargo ship rammed a bridge, causing it to partially collapse. At least two people have been killed and three others are still missing. According to local authorities, one sailor was slightly injured.
The cargo ship crashed on the road bridge southeast of the Guangzhou metropolis in Guangdong province on Thursday morning. According to initial investigations, two vehicles fell into the water and three others fell onto the ship. Among them was a bus that fell into the cargo hold of the freighter. Only the driver was on the bus and could not immediately be reached after the accident.

Divers search for missing persons
It was not immediately known why the accident occurred. Two people were rescued. At least two people have been killed and three others are still missing. Divers are looking for them. Chinese state television showed footage from the accident scene, showing the cargo ship wedged between two bridge pillars. There was a large hole in the two-lane bridge above.
