During speed checks on the Brenner Pass and in Kössen, the Tyrolean police arrested two drivers on Thursday who were driving far too fast on the highway or in the surrounding area. Both young men have now lost their driver’s license.
The first speeding offender was arrested on Thursday afternoon on the Brenner motorway A13 by plainclothes officers from the Schönberg motorway police. In the municipality of Gries am Brenner, the 18-year-old German drove at 164 km/h through a place where only 60 km/h was allowed.
With 105 things around the area
Later in the evening in Kössen (Kitzbühel district), a 27-year-old Dutch man was flashed by police officers who were carrying out speed measurements in the area. Instead of the prescribed 50 km/h, the driver drove through the city at 105 km/h.
Both drivers had their driver’s licenses confiscated on the spot. They are now confronted with advertisements.
