Unusual accident on the southern motorway shortly after the Großlidl tunnel towards Vienna: Apparently due to carelessness, the driver of a special transport vehicle crashed with full force into the rear of the support vehicle in front of him.
This caused the car to be thrown sideways and into the guardrail. The driver of the special transporter also lost control, skidded and came to a stop in the second lane.
Driver injured and taken to hospital
While the driver of the support vehicle escaped with the shock and the proverbial black eye, the crash driver suffered minor injuries in the collision and had to be taken to Wolfsberg State Hospital.
The southern highway was closed for an hour for the remediation and recovery work.
