When farmer Annemarie Weichselbaumer (68) from Luftenberg in Upper Austria canceled a lease last November, she was told that she had rented a second piece of land: a small plot of land of about 800 square meters of slope not far from her farm. The farmer was surprised, had never heard of this reason and immediately went to investigate.
This showed that she had been renting the area since 1995. “I was blown away because I knew nothing about it,” says the farmer in an interview with “Krone”. She was also surprised that there was actually a lease with her signature on it.
