There is currently some surprise among some teachers. Since the beginning of 2024, their entire monthly salary has not been paid. According to Tyrol’s Education Directorate, there is “a coherent reason” for this, education director Paul Gappmaier explains in detail.
“In February I only had the basic salary plus the travel allowance on my pay slip, additional payments such as main subject or remedial hourly allowances are missing,” says a teacher (name known to the editors), “I am missing 400 euros, which means I can receive less alimony pay.” For one colleague it was even 800 euros.
