Fear in India – Aggressive leopard hunts people

Date:

An aggressive leopard caused panic in a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra: the animal ran through the streets and chased people.

A video captured the dramatic scenes: the leopard entered the village and attacked several people. Two people were injured by the big cat.

A team of about fifty game wardens and police officers were eventually able to capture the aggressive animal.

People encroach on living space
Clashes between humans and wild animals occur regularly in India. One of the reasons for this is deforestation. As a result, human settlements are moving closer to wildlife and the potential for conflict is increasing.
