The police received several calls on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses heard gunshots at Arthaberplatz in Vienna-Favoriten after several people fired blank weapons in the park.
Three men (26, 32, 32) reportedly asked the people who shot to stop shooting. This escalated the situation. The gunmen tried to shoot at the men with blank guns and wound them with a knife. An attentive reader reporter observed the event (see video below).
According to the eyewitness, one of the two men seen in the video lying on the ground had an empty gun with him.
Two of the armed people (both 19 and from Serbia) were temporarily arrested by the alerted police officers. One person suffered abrasions. The police were able to confiscate several blank weapons, knives and cartridge casings.
