After a fire on Monday afternoon in Vienna’s Floridsdorf, a father and his two small children (2 and 5) are now being sought. The family situation has probably been full of conflict for a long time. The man is also said to have been banned from entering in the past.
When a 34-year-old woman was told that neither her husband (33) showed up for work nor that their children (daughter: two, son: five) were in kindergarten, she immediately drove home.
Investigations are underway
When she noticed smoke in the apartment, she called emergency services. The Vienna Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire, but no one was found in the apartment.
Conflicting family situation
As a police spokeswoman explained, an entry ban had been imposed against the Austrian in the past. However, this is no longer active. The family situation has probably been full of conflict for a long time. Divorce proceedings are also said to be pending.
The Vienna State Police Office, Fire Investigation Area, has taken over the investigation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Due to the circumstances and the unknown whereabouts of the father and children, an extensive search is currently underway for the three.
