A brand new discovery near the Giza pyramids in Egypt is confusing researchers.
Researchers have discovered a mysterious L-shaped structure near the ancient pyramids of Giza.
This ten by ten meter anomaly, consisting of a flat shape and an underlying shape, could possibly be the entrance to a previously undiscovered burial complex.
The mysterious structure was detected using electrical resistivity tomography and ground-penetrating radar. The site was particularly striking: it is located in the Westfriedhof, where there are several hundred mastabas – graves – oriented from north to south.
Only in the center of the area did they find no above-ground remains. This made the researchers suspicious – rightly so, as it turns out.
