After the murder of Linz DJ Max H. (42) on the Thai holiday island of Koh Phangan, moving scenes took place today during the court hearing. There the suspected perpetrator, a Moroccan (37), had to answer for the first time. A sister of the slain Linzer showed greatness and hugged the suspect’s wife.
“The procedure was carried out very professionally and Martina told me that everyone’s empathy was on my brother’s side,” reports one of Max’s brothers. H., who himself lives in Linz, but with his sister Martina and Evy, their girlfriend of his murdered brother, is in constant contact in Thailand: “Both of them, as well as my brother’s friends, are firmly convinced that justice will be done in Thailand made by the judge on Koh Samui. My sister also hugged the perpetrator’s wife, who of course still can’t believe it.”
What’s next?
Brother Martin H. at the “Krone”: “After all witnesses have been heard in court, we are now waiting to see what the public prosecutor and the perpetrator’s lawyer argue for. This can take weeks to several months.”
Beaten to death with an iron bar
After a party, the 37-year-old Moroccan is said to have murdered the Upper Austrian with an iron bar. The body of Max H. – it had serious injuries to the head and face – was found along the road on Thursday. After local police interviewed numerous witnesses, it became clear that the Moroccan was the last person to see the Upper Austrian DJ alive. He was finally arrested by police on Friday.
