Normally only actors do research on the film set of the German crime series “Polizeiruf 110”. But during the filming of the final episode, the real police suddenly stood in front of the film crew and asked questions.
Detectives followed up on a tip about the body of a burned person, as Munich police confirmed on Monday. However, the supposed dead person was a doll.
Photos of ‘corpse’ printed in the drugstore
The episode that aired Sunday titled “Spark Summer” (see video below for trailer) features a charred corpse found in a burned down house. Employees prepared a realistic puppet for the recordings in May last year, the Bayerischer Rundfunk announced. In the story, actress Johanna Wokalek had to look at photos of the victim in the office.
To have these printed, the production prop master turned to a drugstore. When he went to pick up the photos the next day, the police were waiting for him, investigating a suspected murder. Store employees alerted officers.
Propmaster has cleared up misunderstandings
To clarify the matter, the prop master took the investigators to the film set in Ottobrunn. There, director Alexander Adolph confirmed that no one had given their lives for the gruesome sight.
