Countless spectators unleashed a large-scale operation in Vienna-Favoriten on Quellestrasse near Reumannplatz on Friday evening. Four men, two of whom were armed, fought a knife fight. Two were seriously injured. But that’s not all: according to the police, several passers-by tried to prevent the arrests as well as provide first aid.
Numerous emergency services had to move to Quellenstrasse around 11 p.m. According to information from a passerby, about thirty police cars were involved in the action. The road also had to be closed. There were blue flashing lights everywhere.
Huge crowd of spectators
Police spokeswoman Barbara Gass also confirmed the operation to the “Krone”. The reason for the numerous police patrols was the large number of spectators. “During the operation, access was blocked by passers-by. “In addition, some of those affected tried to avoid the arrests and the provision of first aid.”
Not yet shown to passers-by
Because the situation on site was “very dynamic” according to Gass, there have been no further reports to date. It is now important, among other things, to use surveillance cameras to check whether there are any administrative violations.
Men pushed against the wall by the executive
As seen in the video – which was leaked to the ‘Krone’ – two men were pushed against the wall by the executive and arrested. According to Gass, the two seriously injured men are out of danger.
