The former RAF terrorists Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg could still be in Berlin or in the vicinity of the German capital. The police have now published new mugshots of them (see video above).
The images, which appear to be private and were taken between 2021 and 2024, most likely show Garweg. In the most recent photo, the former RAF terrorist sits on a couch between two dogs and eats. It is not yet clear whether the dogs are Garweg’s pets, the criminal investigation department of the state of Lower Saxony said in Hannover on Saturday.
Contact with burdock?
Garweg may have had contact with former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette. As reported, Klette was arrested in Berlin on Monday. The state police department did not reveal whether the photos were found during the search of her apartment.

Ernst-Volker Staub (69) and Burkhard Garweg (55) top Europol’s “Europe’s Most Wanted List”. This searches for serious criminals and terrorists. The German Federal Criminal Police had already asked the public on Friday to help find the two men. However, they may be armed. Therefore, the Criminal Investigation Department of the State of Lower Saxony advises against approaching those you are looking for yourself.
