Tottenham came back to regain the sensations against Crystal Palace

Date:

Tottenham needed a victory after three weeks without finding one and will have to work hard to get it against Crystal Palace, where they had to bounce back by following up with a fine goal from an Eze free kick.

Postecoglou’s team deserved the victory, because they were better and sharper but missed a little more bad attitude in the meaning of their plays. One of the classics here is Timo Werner, who had a great chance to get past ‘Spurs’ but failed in a one-on-one where Johnston held on well.

He did very little on the ball and that too after a steal at Crystal Palace. Limited in creativity after Olise’s injury, Eze alone remained the most inventive player, although alone it would have been impossible.

After a first half with few chances for either side, Tottenham started strongly and Son found the woodwork for the first time. The ‘spurs’ spirit seemed to revive but Eze, after causing a foul in front, hit it powerfully on Vicario’s post (59′).

This did not affect the morale of Postecoglou’s team, who brought in Brenan Johnson to have more weapons in attack and soon began to reap the benefits. Partly because of Glasner’s mistake in substituting Eze, which left Palace completely harmless and at the mercy of their rival’s attacks, they equalized through Werner’s close-range shot (77′) and, in a few minutes, returned to the scoreboard thanks to a header from Romero (80′).

Although victory seemed more obvious, Son decided not to leave the door open for Palace and after running into the open field he completed the comeback (88′).
