A school in Bregenz was under police surveillance on Monday because an unknown person announced a shooting last week.
There was great excitement when a letter announcing disaster (“Amoklauf 04.03”) was discovered at the end of last week in the toilet on BG Blumenstrasse in Bregenz. The doodle was taken seriously by police and the school was under constant surveillance from Friday, but luckily the ‘announcement’ was probably just a joke – albeit a bad one.
In any case, Monday passed without any incident. The school management had already decided last week to continue classes as usual. The parents were also informed about the next steps. The director of the education center is said to have seen the cancellation of classes as a “wrong signal”.
Yet not everyone was completely impressed by the toilet message: some students did not come to school on Monday to be on the safe side – officially because they were ill.
