Five people were killed in a plane crash in the US. The small private plane crashed Monday evening during a failed emergency landing next to a highway in Nashville, Tennessee.
All five people on board were dead. A photo published by police showed the wreckage of the single-engine plane. The fire brigade was also deployed to extinguish a “major fire” at the scene of the accident.
Police spokesman Don Aaron told US media that the plane reported an engine and power failure before it crashed. The pilot was allowed to make an emergency landing at Nashville’s John C. Tune Airport, but the plane crashed several miles from the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have opened an investigation into the accident.
