Former US President Donald Trump has been ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal fees after his civil lawsuit against a British consultancy firm failed. A judge of the London High Court has determined this, the equivalent value is estimated at around 700,000 euros.
Trump must pay £300,000 upfront, and a specialist judge will then determine the exact amount. Trump had sued the consultancy Orbis Business Intelligence, founded by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. The background was a dossier on the politician from 2016 that became public.
Participation in sex orgies in Russia
The so-called Steele dossier cites, among other things, reports that the Russian secret service has images of Trump’s alleged participation in sex orgies in Russia and uses them as a means of pressure. This includes an alleged incident at a Moscow hotel in 2013 in which prostitutes allegedly urinated on a bed in Trump’s presence.
Trump had always denied participating in sex parties in Russia and sued the consultancy firm (see video above). According to the 77-year-old, she made unlawful use of private data and he demanded compensation for the damage to her image. However, a judge had already dismissed the lawsuit before the main hearing. Trump’s team did not appeal.
Four criminal cases
Trump is currently facing four criminal charges, some of which are serious. For example, he has to answer in court because he subsequently wanted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential elections. This year he is standing for re-election. Opinion polls predict a tight race between him and Democratic incumbent Joe Biden.
