Brave. That’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Anna Schmidbauer from Graz. The well-known dog trainer was one of the first to call for a ban on protective work for private dog owners after the fatal attack on a jogger in Upper Austria, knowing full well what hot potato she was attacking.
Anna is charismatic, engaging, unconventional and: Her fan base testifies to the Grazin resident that she thinks like a dog and therefore puts all problem animals “on the same level”. This makes the 35-year-old from Graz laugh again. It has nothing to do with superpowers. On the contrary, she explains, she understands their body language and signals, “which everyone can learn and which is extremely important in the correct handling of animals. They talk to us, we just have to understand their language.”
