A family dispute in an apartment in Feldbach, in southeastern Styria, got out of hand on Thursday evening. The drunken son (18) stabbed his father and also injured his mother.
On Thursday evening around 11:45 p.m. there was an argument between the highly alcoholic son and his father in the apartment of a Ukrainian family in Feldbach. The living situation of the refugee family is very tight. When the drunken son brought his girlfriend home, a heated argument ensued with his father. Suddenly, the 18-year-old pulled out a pocket knife and attacked the head of the family, stabbing him several times in the upper body. When he tried to intervene, his mother also suffered cuts on her hands. The 38-year-old informed the accommodation provider and she started the rescue chain.
Father was taken to hospital with serious injuries
The 39-year-old father was seriously injured and was taken to LKH Feldbach by the Red Cross. The 38-year-old mother was treated by paramedics at the apartment and did not need to be taken to hospital.
The suspect left the apartment after the crime, but was stopped by police officers after a short time. The officers also found the knife that he had thrown into the meadow during the flight. “He was arrested without resistance, but could not yet be interrogated,” said police spokesman Reinhard Gartner. Further investigation is being carried out by the Styrian State Police on suspicion of attempted murder.
